Our marquetry courses take two forms: a discovery course for those wishing to explore the different facets of marquetry. The second course is intended for people who already know marquetry and wish to improve their skills.

THE MARQUETRY INITIATION COURSE
Duration : 5 days (35 hours)
Number of persons : 2 max
Niveau : Novice
It usually takes place over a week of 5 working days (about 35 hours), but we can organise it according to the client’s availability. The objectives of this course are as follows:
To discover and carry out the various stages in the manufacture of marquetry.
Making your first inlays.
Familiarise yourself with the specific tools of the marker (jigsaw, tools, glues, etc.).
Practice the two types of cutting: by “superposition” and “element by element”.
Discover the technique of making shadows with hot sand.
Learn to identify veneers, wood species and the main materials used.

THE ADVANCED MARQUETRY COURSE
The duration of the course depends on the time needed to complete the marquetry or to learn a particular technique. A meeting is organised beforehand in order to best meet the student’s expectations. We will agree together on the areas to explore.
The objectives of this course are as follows:
To make a relatively complex marquetry, the motif can be brought in by the customer or chosen from the many models in our possession.
Learn specific techniques for particular jobs or materials.
Discover and carry out the different stages allowing the manufacture of a marquetry.
